Cauliflower Pizza Crust

So we are in a day and age where carbs are everywhere. Don’t get me wrong, I love bread and carbs but if I want a tone and fit tummy for summer I’ll need to cut back were I can.

Ingredients: crust
2 cups of cauliflower (grated)
1 cup mozzarella
2 tbs parmesan cheese
1 egg
1/2 tbs crushed garlic (I found mine at trader joes! I love the product)
Salt and pepper to taste

Ingredients: topping
Pizza sauce
1/2 cup mozzarella
Optional: basil & mushrooms

Preheat the oven to 450
Grate the cauliflower

Microwave for 7 min (I took it out after 5 min)

Add egg, garlic, parm, salt, pepper (I just shook some in the bowl), and mozzarella

Kneed and mix in a bowl until everything is mixed in and sticking together.

Use some parchment paper on a pizza stone or pan of your choice.
Toss the “dough” on and flatten it out.

Cook for 15 -20 min, until brown on the edges

Looks a little like this.

Add pizza sauce, cheese, and other toppings. Bake again for 10-15 min.

Yummy!!! It smelled amazing and was a lot like pizza. It is a good substitute for now. πŸ™‚

Dr.Who Disney Art

I always find it interesting when artist take things we know so well and take a new spin on them. A friend shared with me this website, a mash up of Disney and Dr. Who.

The artist is Karen Hallion, She has websites and facebook pages and Here you can find her Etsy Page but I can’t help but think how creative this is. Β The Time Lord could cross into any number of things we love…

Birds, buffalo, and ponies oh my!

To say a certain style has caught my eye lately would be an understatement. I’ve been mildly obsessed with fun sweater prints. Here are a few at forever 21 right now.

I didn’t end up getting any of these, but I did get this fox.

Trick or Treat Makeup: Deer

This year I didn’t have much time after work before trick or treaters showed up at my door. So I just worked with things I had.

I quick used the makeup I had to make it look like I had a deer face in 5 min.

I started with bronzer from ear to ear over the crown of my face making more of a heart shape over my forehead.

Took a large blush brush and pulled it from my ears in on my cheeks, adding a dab on my chin.

With a small brush I painted from my eyebrows down the side of my noes about 1/2 way down.

I used Eyeliner and made dramatic cat eyes and just filled in under the bottom of my nose. (I know a lot of people go on the end of the nose but I tried to create the long nose deer have)

White eyeliner to make the spots (in the future I would used paint or something liquid)

All things considered, not too shabby for 5 min face. I took more time to take photos of it then I did doing it. πŸ™‚

ANY-WHO I saw this shirt and it made me smile. Enjoy!Β 603169_10100170310573775_1857460665_n

Upcycle Table Redo #2

I love love love how this is turning out!

So step 1: Sand (I used 3 different grits) See 1st post here
Step 2: Clean. I used a old t shirt rag to knock off all the dust followed by a clean rag and mineral spirit. (Use gloves when working with Mineral Spirits)
Step 3: Stencil, paint. For this I used a sponge brush and this really cool large stencil I ordered 10 months ago. I had intentions of using it on an accent wall. I quickly realized that wasn’t going to happen any time soon.

Cool start… I used the same grays I used on the living room paneling. Next I free hand painted the edge. Let dry a day.
Step 4: stain, I used the same stain as my dresser update. See the dresser update here.

I like how this is progressing…

Now I need to seal it with some coats of poly and figure out what to do with the legs. Maybe I’ll have a new table by Christmas… πŸ™‚
