Painted Sky

I find there are very few things more beautiful than a painted sky. Either a sunrise or a sunset both are entirely unique each and every time they grace the earth.

No-mater where in the world I am I have made it a point to stop and to see at least one sunrise and a sun set on the trip.

Sunset Rio- June 2011

It’s so much fun to watch the colors dance along the sky and bleed into each-other as it fades into dusk…

Burnsville- Oct 2011

So while waiting for some of my flights I’ve watched the sun set. I run to a window and grab a front row seat. I set down my phone and just watch for 10 min… It’s always amazing. Then one day I looked around the airport and saw that I was the only one at the window. I saw many people reading the paper, playing with phones/ipods/computers, watching tv’s and bustling in and out of gift-shops. When did we get this way? Does anyone remember when or why we started to take these moments for granted? Will we not be asking to see just one more some day?

Listen to the sunset,
Hear its silent sigh
As it falls down the horizon
Warning, the moon is nigh

Listen to the sunset
See its pretty hue
But I can’t enjoy the sunset
If I am not with you

Just remember this though,
Promise you wont forget,
Even if your far away,
We’ll be watching the same sunset

So listen to the sunset
Enjoy its beauty true
When you see it, think of me
And I will think of you

Don’t forget to stop and smell the roses, watch the sunrise, or sunset.

Gods beauty is everywhere, I encourage you to slow down and take a moment to enjoy it.
